If you are thinking about building a membership website using wordpress, then wishlist member is a solution that you should take in consideration to protect your content.

Wishlist member is one of the best selling content protection plugins for wordpress and in my opinion that is due to the fact that wishlist is one of the easiest ones to use.

Wishlist member allows you to protect pages, posts, files and content. It also allows you to connect your members with your webinar provider and protect your webinar link, so no more non members having access to your premium webinars. 🙂

Another great feature of wishlist is the capability of directing members to any page that you like, for example if you want a certain member or a certain group of members to have access to a specific page when they log in and another group to a complete different one, you can do it.

Wishlist Member connects with all major shopping carts and autoresponders and for those that use less known brands, you can sync both with its general integration setting.

For those that want freedom, wishlist member has a functionality of auto send email messages whenever you upload a new piece of content to the website, also when your members login for the first time or lose their password, wishlist member will send an automatic message to your members.

One the features that use the most (and that is one of the worst handled on wishlist) is the drip feed functionality.

On a competitor website I have read that wishlist does not allow drip feed, that’s not true, it does allow drip feed. The problem with it is that it is not handled logically.

In order to create a “micro continuity website” you need to create a level to each lesson that you want to drip feed. For small websites (up to 20 drip feed lessons ) that is not too hard. THe problem comes when you want to build a really big website.

Image yourself having one year of content being delivered daily or weekly… Well you can image that making 365 levels is not only boring but also not really a good way to do it.

With that said I will have to say that there’s a plugin that connects with wishlist that will make this functionality work as it is supposed to.

One the things that I like about wishlist member is that it has very good tutorials and a great support desk, so if you ever feel stuck you will have a feeling that you will never be alone.
